Dr. Pat Mercaitis is a licensed, certified speech-language pathologist who has been in business since 1980. She has been on the faculty in Communication Disorders at UMASS Amherst since 1983. She provides in-depth evaluations to identify or rule out pediatric or adult speech disorder, language disorder, problems with oral and written language skills (speaking, reading, writing, spelling), fluency disorders (stuttering or cluttering), language-based learning disability, ADD, ADHD, non-verbal learning disability, Asperger's syndrome, aphasia, head injury, social communication skills evaluations. She provides individual or small group treatment in her office and specializes in fluency disorders.

She is available for on or off-site presentations and workshops, parent and teacher training workshops, and executive and staff training sessions. She has written an "FAQ" to help answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding speech-language pathology.
